Phyleus
(
Φυλεύς), a son of Augeias, was expelled by his father from Ephyra, because he gave his evidence in favour of Heracles.
He then emigrated to Dulichium (
Hom. Il. 2.629,
15.530,
23.637.) By Ctimene or Timandra Phyleus became the father of Meges, who is hence called Phyleides. (
Eustath. ad Hom. p. 305 ;
Paus. 5.3.4;
Apollod. 2.5.5;
Strab. x. p.459.)
